Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Somang & Friends is a private pet sitting management tool. It is operated by an individual pet sitter and is not a commercial product.

2. What data we collect

• Account: your email address and a hashed password (the original password is never stored or readable).
• Pet records you create: pet name, breed, owner name, owner phone number, notes, and optionally a photo.
• Appointment data: stay dates, rates, tips, and notes you enter yourself.
• Session cookie: a single authentication token (paw_session) stored as an httpOnly cookie. It expires in 30 days or when you sign out.
• Timezone cookie: your browser's IANA timezone string, used only to show correct calendar dates.

3. How we use it

Your data is used solely to operate your account — displaying your calendar, managing pets and appointments, and calculating earnings. It is never used for advertising, marketing, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the app's core function.

4. Where data is stored

• Database: Neon Postgres, hosted on AWS (us-east-1). Encrypted at rest and in transit.
• Photos: Vercel Blob, hosted on AWS. Encrypted at rest and served over HTTPS.
• Application: Vercel (serverless, US region). All traffic is HTTPS-only.

5. Who can access your data

Only you. Every account is fully isolated — no other user can view, query, or access your dogs, appointments, or client information. The app operator has infrastructure-level access to the database (as any administrator would) but does not view or export your data.

6. Sharing and selling

Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with any third party for any purpose. The only external services involved are the infrastructure providers listed above (Neon, Vercel, AWS), which process your data solely to run the application.

7. Your rights and data deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This immediately and irreversibly removes your email address, password, all pet records, all appointments, and all associated data from the database. There is no recovery after deletion. For any other data requests, contact the operator directly.

8. Phone numbers and personal information

Phone numbers and names you enter for pet owners are private contact details belonging to your clients. By using this app you agree to handle that information responsibly, use it only for pet sitting coordination, and not share it with others outside that context.

9. Changes to this policy

If anything changes, I'll update the date at the top. Using the app after that means you're okay with it.
